Mrs. Carney has two children that attend Hilliard City Schools. Katie and Sean attend Darby High School. When Mrs. Carney is not busy with her children's schedules she likes the adventures of the outdoors: hiking, sailing, zip-lining, and running. Mr. Speaks - Math I was born in Columbus Ohio. I have both a Bachelors degree and Masters degree from The Ohio State University. I have three children, eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. I ride my bike for fun and exercise. I average about 2,000 miles a year on my bike. I do community outreach in the Columbus area where my wife and I and friends from church feed weekly meals to the homeless on a street corner in the Franklinton neighborhood. Mrs. Wakefield - Intervention Specialist I was born in Columbus, Ohio and grew up in Gahanna. I attended Miami University, where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Communication, with a minor in French. After completing my undergraduate degree, my husband and I moved to Arizona to experience life in the west for awhile. We lived in Scottsdale, AZ for four years, and although we loved the mountains and sunshine, we ultimately wanted to be closer to family. Upon moving home to Columbus, I went back to school to receive my teaching license as an Intervention Specialist from Ashland University. In my spare time, I love to play with my two daughters, Hattie (3) and Josie (1), cook with my husband, spend time with family and friends, travel, and relax with a good book! Mr. Thorpe - Language Arts I was raised in Troy, Ohio. After High School I went to the University of Cincinnati (the best seven years of my life). After my undergraduate degree I earned Master Degrees from The University of Dayton and The Ohio State University. I have four children and live on a horse farm. I coach football and track and love to read and write poetry. I have been teaching for a long, long time,(George Washington was one of my favorite students). Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens. Brown paper packages tied up with strings. These are a few of my favorite things.
